Leroy Merlin, a French multinational corporation operating in 13 countries, specializes in do-it-yourself construction, decoration, and gardening. Since entering Spain in 1989, it has expanded significantly, now boasting 74 retail locations and over 10,000 employees. Recently, Leroy Merlin acquired the American company American Retail Supply (ARS). As ARS’s smaller stores integrate with the Leroy Merlin brand, they are currently undergoing refurbishment.

Retail company looks to Floor Poxy for a longer lasting flooring solution

Leroy Merlin sought a flooring solution that was both visually appealing and highly durable to withstand heavy foot traffic and machinery in their stores. The existing vinyl and ceramic floors were in poor condition and required frequent repairs. To minimize business disruption, a rapid installation was essential.

FloorPoxy’s seamless flooring systems met Leroy Merlin’s needs by offering long-lasting performance and the ability to complete projects swiftly. To address the specific challenges of the stores, a multi-layer Floor Poxy Thin Film: 100% Solids Epoxy system was installed.

The process began with preparing the substrate and applying FPX 7200G Crack Patch Gel for waterproofing. Next, FPX 1200 Epoxy Primer was troweled on to provide impact, abrasion, and chemical resistance. For aesthetics and improved cleaning, FPX 40/60 Medium Grit Clear Cut was added. The final layer, FPX 3300 Epoxy Topcoat, delivered a satin finish that could endure the constant wear and tear of retail environments, including heavy foot traffic and machinery.

  prior to application.
